Check this book out! GVMS education CTE students, Maleea Mccomas and Daniel Clay worked hard to create an original children’s book titled, “Frog Learning”!
The book explains the phases of metamorphosis a frog experiences throughout its life cycle!

Read Across America Day takes place every year on March 2nd. The day helps promote the importance of literacy. This year, Read Across America Day took place on a Saturday, so LCHS Student Council Members stopped by Hamlin PK8 last Friday to celebrate the event with Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade students. LCHS students read books to students and encouraged them to keep working hard in school. Thank you, LCHS Student Council, for investing in our future Panthers!

Harts PK-8 students in Mrs. Brittney Smith’s class chose an influential African American to do further research about for Black History month. They focused on why they were considered a leader, their achievements, and any important life events that helped that leader become who they are. Students then made posters to showcase their research.

11 LCHS Marching Panthers were invited to be a part of the 2024 Marshall University Honor Band! The storied tradition of the Marching Panthers continues to grow each year. Congratulations!

A small glimpse into what Mrs. Fulks ELA8 class has been up to this month:
👉 Working on reading and writing skills in small groups
👉 iReady lessons
👉 Created two hallway displays highlighting their research on WWII and The Holocaust
Great job, Wildcats! Keep up the great work!

Is it really an agriculture lesson if you don't get dirty? The Mobile Ag Lab, sponsored by the West Virginia Farm Bureau, rolled through West Hamlin this week.
"The Mobile Ag Ed Science Lab provides students with the unique opportunity to participate in hands-on lessons that reinforce their knowledge of science, technology, English and math, while they are simultaneously introduced to agriculture education."
Students had a great time touring the lab and taking part in the interactive lessons. Watching students learn something new, or try something for the first time never gets old!
Thank you to the WV Farm Bureau and the Mobile Ag Lab Team for making a visit!

There is just something exciting watching objects glow in the dark. Making your own glow in the dark objects in science class is even better, and 8th graders at Hamlin did just that. Students made glow in the dark polymer worms! This is a great way for students to see how different materials/objects can change and create something new when they are combined. The end result was awesome!

Congratulations to Harts PK8 and West Hamlin Elementary for claiming the title of LCS iReady Champions! Keep up the good work!
