At the end of July, we celebrated the upcoming return to school with a back-to-school carnival! Everyone had a great time! Kelly Dial State Farm Agent, Emerald Garden Apartments, Lincoln Church of God and several other businesses, churches and non profits provided games, inflatables, prizes, food and fun to approximately 200 people on Saturday July 30th. All supplies and cash collected will be donated to Lincoln County Schools to help those kids who need a little help with school supply items. The big hit was the dunk tank, kids lined up to make sure that the good natured guy stayed wet. The kids enjoyed pizza, popcorn, cotton candy and were given coupons for hot dogs at Saved By Grace and coupons for free breakfast sandwich at Chick- Fil-A! Families were asked to bring a school supply item or donate cash to be entered into the drawings. Drawings were held at the end of the carnival for 10 assorted baskets filled with candy, gift cards, candles, t-shirts, and lots of other assorted items also donated by local businesses. Kelly Dial said she is hoping to make it an annual event to help students who are in need of school supplies. Thanks to all volunteers who helped.
