This post is regarding bus route changes for Tuesday, September 6 for Midway, Duval, LCHS, and Harts: For Midway, Duval, and LCHS - Bus 225 will not be running until further notice. Bus 223 will pick up the students on Garretts Bend and Rt. 214 after dropping off students at Midway Elementary. Bus 223 will start on Garretts Bend at approximately 7:30 AM. Bus 1610 will pick up Bus 225 students on Cobbs Creek beginning at approximately 7:10 AM. In the afternoon, the students from Duval PK-8 and LCHS that live on Rt 3 and normally ride Bus 225 will ride Bus 191. The students that ride Bus 225 and transfer to Bus 223 will ride bus 2115. Harts Area: Beginning Tuesday, September 6, bus 166 will not be running until further notice. Students that ride Bus 166 and live on Big Ugly Creek Road and Broad Branch can meet Bus 165 at the intersection of Big Ugly Creek Road and Green Shoals Road at approximately 6:45 AM in the mornings and approximately 2:40 PM in the afternoons. Ranger Area - Bus 161 (Christy Bias - 10 Mile Bus) will not be running tomorrow, Thursday, September 1. Bus 2140, Freddie Joe, will pick up the students that normally rides Bus 161 after he drops off his students at Ranger Elementary. He will leave Ranger Elementary at approximately 7:20 to begin the 10 Mile Run. In the afternoon, Bus 2140 and 213 will deliver the student's home, please expect delays. Ranger Area - Bus 161 (Christy Bias - 10 Mile Bus) will not be running today. Bus 2140 (Freddie Joe) will pick up the students that normally rides Bus 161 after he drops off his students at Ranger Elementary. He will leave Ranger Elementary at approximately 7:20 to begin the 10 Mile Run. This afternoon, Bus 2140 and 214 will deliver the student's home, please expect delays. The following information is for Harts PK-8. Bus 2122 will not be running its route this evening, August 30. Students can be picked up at the school. If students cannot be picked up at the school, they will stay at the school until Bus 164 finishes it route and transports them home. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Beginning Monday, August 29th Bus 2131, 151, 1610, and 192 will be running their regular routes. In the mornings, Bus 222 is going to be running late picking up students on Bear Creek Road and Route 10 at Salt Lick for West Hamlin, Guyan Valley, and Lincoln County High School students. Until further notice, Bus 222 is going to start into Bear Creek at approximately 7:30 AM. Bus 222 is still not running Cherry Street on the Lower Mud River end due to the road slipping. Students will need to catch bus 2124 at the mouth of Cherry Street on Lower Mud River at approximately 7:05 AM. Bus 2124 will drop students off at the same location in the afternoon at approximately 3:50 PM. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Bus 160 will not be running this afternoon. The students from bus 160 and the students that Bus 160 has been transporting for Bus 2131 will be transported by Bus 201 and Bus 163 Bus 201 will transport the students home that Bus 160 has been taking home that normally ride Bus 2131. Drop off time will be approximately 3:40 PM. Bus 163 will transport the students home that live from the Spurlocksville Y to Upper Mud River Road. Bus 163 will be coming from the Bulger Road area, so she will be 30 – 45 minutes later than Bus 160 normally is. Please be patient as this time is approximate. Bus 2113 will begin running again in the morning on Thursday, August 25, on 6 Mile Road for students attending West Hamlin Elementary School, Guyan Valley Middle School, and Lincoln County High School. Thank you for your patience and cooperation while we have had to change routes due to driver absences.

Due to driver absences , the following bus route changes are effective until further notice. West Hamlin and Guyan Valley Middle School – Bus 151, 154, and 2102 Morning: Bus 151 is not running. Students on this bus may catch bus 154 at the intersection of Two-Mile Creek Road at 6:45 AM Morning: Students that normally ride bus 151 on Route-10 will ride bus 2102 Afternoon: Students on bus 154 will be dropped off at the Two-Mile Creek Road intersection West Hamlin and Guyan Valley Middle School – Bus 192, 168, 169, and 214 Morning: Bus 192 is not running. Students on Peyton Branch may catch bus 168 at the intersection of Peyton Branch and Route 10 at 7:45 AM Morning: Students on Lincoln Road and Long Branch may catch bus 169 at the intersection of Route-10 and Lincoln Road or Long Branch Apartments at 8:05 AM Morning: Students on Falls Creek may catch bus 214 at the intersection of Falls Creek and Route-10 at 7:30 AM Afternoon: Students will be dropped off at the same meeting point from morning pickup West Hamlin and Guyan Valley Middle School – Bus 2113 and 2133 Morning: Bus 2113 is not running. Students from Six Mile, Blue Lick and Hubball Road may catch bus 2133 at Sammy’s at 7:15 AM Afternoon: Students will be transported back to Sammy’s Midway Elementary School – Afternoon Only – Bus 2114 and 223 Afternoon: Bus 2114 is not running. Bus 223 will drop of Midway students at Curry’s in the afternoon at 3:30 PM Hamlin and Lincoln County High School - Bus 2131, Bus 160, Bus 153 Morning: Bus 2131 is not running. Students living on Parsner and Upper Big Creek may catch bus 160 at the mouth of the hollow and Mud River Road at 7:15 AM and 3:40 PM in the afternoon Morning: Students living on Little Laurel and Lower Big Creek can meet Bus 153 at the mouth of the hollow and Mud River Road at 7:05 AM and 3:35 PM in the afternoon. MIDWAY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ONLY - Bus 223 and Bus 1610 In the morning - Bus 1610 will not be running. Bus 223 will leave Midway Elementary at 7:20 AM to begin picking up Bus 1610's route. In the afternoon - Students that ride Bus 1610 will be transported home with Duval and Lincoln County High School students on Bus 2115 or Bus 191. All times are approximate. Bus 1610 (Michael Smith) will not be running today. Bus 223 will leave Midway Elementary at approximately 7:20 AM to begin picking up Bus 1610's route. This afternoon, Midway Elementary will hold the students that ride Bus 1610, these students will be transported home with the Duval/LCHS students. Please expect delays as we are having to combine routes in order to transport student's to and from school. We apologize for any inconvenience as we do our best to cover driver's absences.

Bus 2133 (Drex Mullins) will not be running this week. Students living on Parsner and Upper Big Creek can meet Bus 160 at the mouth of the hollow and Mud River Road at approximately 7:15 AM and 3:40 PM. Students living on Little Laurel and Lower Big Creek can meet Bus 153 at the mouth of the hollow and Mud River Road at approximately 7:05 AM and 3:35 PM. Bus 153 (Susan Collins) will not be running on Thursday or Friday for Hamlin PK-8 and LCHS students. Bus 2131 will be picking up her students on Big Laurel and Lower Big Creek. Bus 160 will pick up her students on Fez, main Upper Mudd River Road, and Cherry Street. Bus 222 will be running late picking up students on Bear Creek Road and Rt 10 @ Saltlick in the mornings for West Hamlin, GVMS and LCHS students. It is back to school week! The class of 2023 is about to begin their final year as Panthers!

The Lincoln County Virtual School option for the 2022/2023 school year is open to students in Grades 6-12 who have sufficient internet access at home. There is a required parent and student meeting which will be held in August. After completing the pre-registration, parents/guardians will be contacted by the central office to schedule a meeting date and time. The curriculum for virtual school is provided through West Virginia Virtual School and students will be issued a device to use for their schooling. Lincoln County facilitator teachers will oversee student progress and communicate with parents on a regular basis regarding student progress in courses. At the end of July, we celebrated the upcoming return to school with a back-to-school carnival! Everyone had a great time! Kelly Dial State Farm Agent, Emerald Garden Apartments, Lincoln Church of God and several other businesses, churches and non profits provided games, inflatables, prizes, food and fun to approximately 200 people on Saturday July 30th. All supplies and cash collected will be donated to Lincoln County Schools to help those kids who need a little help with school supply items. The big hit was the dunk tank, kids lined up to make sure that the good natured guy stayed wet. The kids enjoyed pizza, popcorn, cotton candy and were given coupons for hot dogs at Saved By Grace and coupons for free breakfast sandwich at Chick- Fil-A! Families were asked to bring a school supply item or donate cash to be entered into the drawings. Drawings were held at the end of the carnival for 10 assorted baskets filled with candy, gift cards, candles, t-shirts, and lots of other assorted items also donated by local businesses. Kelly Dial said she is hoping to make it an annual event to help students who are in need of school supplies. Thanks to all volunteers who helped.
