Guidelines for End of Year Celebration Trips
Hamlin PK-8
Parents,
We are planning an end of the year celebration for our students. Depending on our funds, we will determine the location at a later date. Our goal is to raise enough money to continue to go to Malibu Jack’s as in the past. We are trying to raise enough money for this trip. We will also be taking a second trip for those students that are at mastery or exceeds. Again, this is dependent on funding. We have developed guidelines that will help determine who gets to attend. Our wish is for everyone to participate! Please go over the guidelines with your child. We have gone over these with the students at school. The following guidelines will be used to determine eligibility for the trip:
1. No suspensions from April 1, 2025 forward
2. Demonstrate growth-5% or more on the iReady diagnostic- Utilizing data from the first diagnostic to the third. (No red flags on completion) Red flags mean the student rushed through the assessment and did not give their best effort. Grades K-8
3. Second Trip-Meets or exceeds grade level standards on iReady or Benchmark
4. Demonstrate growth utilizing data from the first to the third Benchmarks 5% or more- Grades 3-8
5. Be present on and on-time for the WVGSA on the week of May 12-16. We realize emergencies arise, and we will accept doctor’s excuses due to illness, court hearings with documentation, and death in the family. If you have appointments scheduled for these dates, please try to reschedule.
*Student effort on these assessments is vital for growth. Please encourage your child to do their best. If teachers feel students are not giving their best effort, we will contact parents.
Thank you,
Mrs. Huffman
