Good morning, Due to the weather forecast for both today and tomorrow, the previously scheduled field trip to Go Mart Ballpark to see the Dirty Birds has been cancelled. We apologize for any inconvenience and we will try and do something fun for our students tomorrow. Thank you for your understanding.

We have been made aware of a mistake on the Camden park permission slip. The trip will be on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Money and permission slips are due no later than May 9. If any student needs help with the $10 fee, please send a note in to Ms Kennedi.

Get ready for a fun-filled evening! Our Family Night Book Fair is happening tonight from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM! Bring the whole family to explore a fantastic selection of books for all ages, enjoy some special activities, and share the love of reading together. It’s the perfect time to pick out your next great read and support our school at the same time! Also, our PTO meeting scheduled for tonight has been moved from Duval field to the school. Hello, We wanted to remind students and parents of a few rules and expectations that we have here at Duval PK-8. Energy drinks are not permitted on school property. Blankets are not permitted to be used at school due. Hats are not to be worn at school. This is a part of our school dress code, and needs to be followed. The only exceptions will be on dress up days or fundraisers. All dress code policies must be followed at all times. These expectations have been in place for numerous years at Duval PK-8, but over the last couple of weeks are often not being followed. This has led to a confiscation of drinks, blankets, and hats. Please do not allow your students to bring these items to school, and it could result in negative consequences. Thank you for your assistance in these matters!

Good evening, This message is for 8th grade parents who participated in the Krispy Kreme fundraiser. Due to not being at school on Thursday and Friday, a check was not able to be prepared in time. As a result, the doughnuts will now be at the school for pick up on TUESDAY, February 11th after 12 o’clock. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Please remember that students cannot take these on the bus, so someone must come pick them up from the school. Thank you.

Good evening, This is an important message from Duval PK-8. Over the next week or so, students in middle school grades 6 through 8 will be taking the iReady Diagnostic Assessment for both Math and English. This assessment is completed three times per school year and is administered using an iPad. Please ensure your students are keeping their iPads charged and ready to go, so that they can be successful in completing this diagnostic assessment. Thank you, and have a good evening.

Good afternoon, this is a message from Duval PK-8. Hello, this message is for parents of 8th graders who participated in the Krispy Kreme fundraiser. Due to Krispy Kreme’s recent partnership with McDonald’s, the South Charleston location is extremely overwhelmed and they say they will be unable to fulfill an order of our size until January. We can keep and deposit your order form and money and let you know the new date for January, or we can return your order form and money and you can refundraise when the time comes. Please let us know which option you would like us to do by Friday November 22nd at noon. We are so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Good morning, This is a message from Duval PK-8. On November 20th, 2024, all 7th grade students will be taking a trip to Marshall University to attend a cyber safety presentation. Good afternoon, This is a message from Duval PK through 8. Recently, we have had parents passing others in the pick up and drop off line. Administration has spoken to some of these parents directly, but wanted to put out a message to all parents to please avoid passing others in the pickup and drop off line, as it is a danger to student safety. Student safety is a top priority at Duval PK through 8, and we please ask that we follow the rules mentioned in this message.
