Lincoln County Schools is excited to announce the launch of end-of-day suppers for all students across the district. This new opportunity is made possible through the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) At-Risk Supper Program, which allows schools to provide a free, nutritious evening meal to students as part of after-school programming.

Beginning this fall, every school in Lincoln County will offer a daily supper meal during a built-in time for academic enrichment. This enrichment period gives students the chance to complete homework, receive extra academic support, and participate in structured learning activities—all while enjoying a healthy meal before heading home.

“We know many of our students spend long days at school and in extracurricular activities,” said Kayla Adkins, Director of Child Nutrition. “By offering supper alongside academic enrichment, we’re ensuring that every child has access to the nutrition they need to focus, grow, and thrive—both in and out of the classroom.”

The At-Risk Supper Program is designed to:

  • Support Student Success – Nutritious meals help students stay energized and ready to learn.

  • Reduce Food Insecurity – Ensures that all students have access to three meals a day, at no cost to families.

  • Build Healthy Habits – Encourages balanced eating patterns that students can carry into adulthood.

All students enrolled in Lincoln County Schools are eligible to participate, and no application is required. Meals are planned according to USDA nutrition standards and will include student favorites alongside fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.

Lincoln County Schools is proud to expand its commitment to student wellness by adding supper to the school day. By pairing mealtime with academic enrichment, the district is taking another step toward supporting the whole child—meeting both their educational and nutritional needs.
