Hamlin Pre K-8 Nomination for Lincoln County Schools Teacher of the Year

Leah Hager currently teaches 6th and 8th grade earth/space, life, and physical science in Lincoln County at Hamlin PK-8 in Hamlin, West Virginia. She has worked at Hamlin since fall of 2015 and loves it as it is her home school. Hager graduated from Hamlin High School as salutatorian in 1982. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of Houston, Houston Texas in 1987. She worked as a lab technician doing biochemistry in a Tumor Biology Lab at University of Texas M D Anderson Cancer Center under Tatsuro Irimura and was published in scientific journals with the team, then left to raise a family.
